Witness Nathan Burge told 9News Perth people rushed from nearby to help after hearing a loud bang.

“I just started to yell out, ‘Any man, any man’, I’m pointing at people, getting them over, ‘Any male, any male’, I wanted to flip that car over,” he said.

“We ended up with a good 10 to 12 people on it … we got [the car] up and someone pulled her out.”

A woman then stepped in and began CPR on Kaur, but she died a short time later in hospital.

Witnesses said the driver was begging people to call for an ambulance.

WA Police’s major crash unit is investigating the accident, with the driver, a 19-year-old man, assisting with their inquiries.

More than $80,000 has been raised to help Kaur’s family repatriate her body to India.
