The 2026 NBA Combine has officially wrapped up, and now, let the countdown begin to the 2026 NBA draft.
Dillon Mitchell of St. John’s has been one of the more unassuming draft prospects in his class, but not for long. His showing at the NBA Combine is turning heads, and that’s only improving his draft stock.
In a feature for Bleacher Report after the week-long NBA Combine, Jonathan Wasserman names the winners and losers of the event. “Every year, the NBA Draft Combine gives prospects a chance to change their draft stock in front of dozens of front offices — through measurements, athletic testing, scrimmages and closed-door interviews,” he states.
One of his biggest winners of the event, he believes, is Mitchell.

“Dillon Mitchell showed how he can impact games without needing creation or shooting,” he states in the piece. “He was a game-high +17 with seven points, 10 boards and eight assists, playing a Swiss Army Knife role that NBA teams could often use between their ball-handlers and shotmakers.”
He adds: “It may take a specific general manager and roster to see value in Mitchell’s game, but he sold it very well on Wednesday. Athleticism for finishing, strong passing instincts, defensive tools and motor create glue-guy potential worth looking at in the second round.”

Mitchell isn’t one of the biggest names in the draft, but his strong athleticism, rim defense and speed in transition should make franchises look twice. He’s also a good passer and strong rebounder, and those meat-and-potatoes skills will serve him well in the NBA.
