Los Angeles Rams fans were presumably disappointed the team didn’t draft a high-profile wide receiver in the first two rounds of the 2026 NFL draft.

Yes, the team picked C.J. Daniels out of Miami in Round 6, and yes, the Rams did pick Ohio State tight end Max Klare in Round 2, but the consensus among Rams fans on social media is they were disappointed the team passed on USC receiver Makai Lemon.

Lemon ultimately went 20th overall to the Philadelphia Eagles, while the Rams took Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson with the 13th overall pick.

But Tyler Sullivan of CBS Sports thinks the Rams could make it up to their fans by signing former All-Pro wideout Stefon Diggs to fill that coveted WR3 spot that could improve L.A.’s chances of getting past Seattle in the postseason in 2026.

“The Rams had been hunting for a wide receiver to add alongside Puka Nacua and Davante Adams all offseason,” Sullivan wrote. “So far, they haven’t come away with one, opting to take Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson at No. 13 overall instead of addressing that need.

“Diggs is coming off a strong 2025 campaign with the Patriots, topping 1,000 yards while helping the franchise reach Super Bowl LX. The veteran’s production slowed down the stretch run, but there is still fuel in his tank, especially if he’s playing a complementary role like he would in Los Angeles.”

Diggs does come with some baggage.

He has some pending legal trouble that could lead to a suspension next season, but if he’s cleared of any wrongdoing, he could be a sneaky good addition or a WR-needy team like the Rams.

Giving Matthew Stafford a 1-2-3 punch of Nacua, Adams, and Diggs could make the Rams the Super Bowl favorite in the NFC.
